3 dead in Quezon, Benguet mishaps

ITOGON, Benguet -- Three men died in separate vehicular accidents in the provinces of Benguet and Quezon last week.

A man died while a brother of the mayor of Itogon was injured when their van fell into a ravine in La Trinidad Morning of July 9.

Danny Vallo died at the scene while Nestor Palangdan, brother of Mayor Victorino Palangdan, was brought to the Baguio City General Hospital and Medical Center for treatment.

        Palangdan, who was driving the van, reportedly lost control of the wheel, causing the vehicle to roll into a ravine in Barangay Beckel at around 7:30 a.m.

Meanwhile, Eduardo Aguilar and Dean de Gracia, 39, died at the scene after their tricycle collided with a van in Atimonan, Quezon on Feb. 8.

Their companions – Edgar Deza, Alfredo Galindo and Charlie Erandio – were taken to the Quezon Medical Center in Lucena City for treatment.

Van driver Eric Maupan escaped after the incident.
